What’s your vision for yourself and the network marketing business you are building? Is your vision of where you are going compelling and inspiring enough that it’s going to motivate you to keep moving forward? If it isn’t, why not?
You success in network marketing, or any home business for that matter, ultimately comes down to your willingness to persist towards your vision. And your life will be as great as is the vision you hold for it. Your job is to stay focused on your grandest vision, take action towards it every day, and learn to make decisions that are supportive to your achieving that vision.
Consider the following three key points to test the power of your vision:
- Start with your grandest vision. When you place all of your energy and focus on the immediate goal in front of you, say for example getting qualified, it tends to limit the degree of effort and commitment you are willing and able to put out. This is only natural since you can’t see past that goal. So the solution is to develop your grander vision of what it is you are ultimately after. What does your income look like and what is it you have the freedom to do or be?
- Is your vision large enough? Your vision of what you are building must be large enough to hold your attention and it must be commensurate with the effort required to make it happen. As an example, if your vision is that you are building a business that will perhaps pay you an extra $500 per month and allow you to go out for a nice dinner a couple of times per month, and that’s as far as you have ever bothered to take it, how motivated will you be when it comes to advertising and working your business? Will you be motivated enough by that vision to put out 5000 flyers every week (as an example)? Will you be motivated enough by that vision to stay up late and place another dozen Internet ads even though you are tired and have had a long day?
- Does the action you are taking feel in alignment with your vision? In contrast to the example above, let’s suppose your vision is that you are building a team of hundreds (or even thousands) and a business that will pay you well into six figures every year for life. And through that vision, you will have the freedom to do what you want, the freedom to donate and help others, and the freedom to experience the luxuries in life you really deserve. Does holding that vision feel any different to you than the first example? Are you more likely to put out those flyers or stay up later to place those ads? When you focus on the bigger vision you have for yourself, and you have clarity around that bigger vision in a detailed way, then the action you take and the way the action feels to you is completely different. You will feel whether or not the action you are taking is in alignment. And because you will be able to discern where the alignment doesn’t fit — which will often turn out to be around actions that are part of your “comfort zone” — you will begin making better quality decisions about the actions you should be taking.
