In building your network marketing business, there are very basic elements that determine the level of success you will enjoy. You mindset is one such critical element. Your ability to sell more in your network marketing business ultimately comes down to one essential mindset shift that, surprisingly, most network marketers seem unwilling to make.

That shift is this: a willingness to invest in yourself and your own success.

The majority of home business entrepreneurs get started and operate their business by spending as little time and money as possible because they fear they will fail. As a result, they tend to not invest in their own company products, they tend to not invest in activities required to properly grow, and they tend to avoid investing in further developing themselves and their education. In short, they avoid making any meaningful investment in themselves.

In contrast, the most successful leaders in the home business and network marketing industries invest in themselves first and foremost. They invest in programs to assist their learning and, most importantly, they invest in becoming a product of the products they represent. They recognize that while such investment may be uncomfortable, it is the level of investment they are willing to make in themselves that will determine the level of success they enjoy.

Ultimately this boils down to an issue of integrity. You will only ever attract who you are being in your own business. If you are being a fearful business owner who is unwilling to invest in the very products you represent, or is unwilling to invest in and grow your business, why would you expect others to purchase those products from you and freely invest in themselves? And why would they be willing to invest in you?

The people who get started with you in your business are people who relate to you in some way. That’s the basis of relationship marketing, which is what network marketing ultimately is. They will tend to follow your lead and do what you do. Consequently, the example you set matters immensely.

If you are finding that you are attracting the “wrong” type of people into your business, use that as your clue to examine closely who you are actually being. Make the necessary corrections and set the example you expect others in your organization to emulate. Become a “product of the product” which is ultimately the essence of successful network marketing. Understand that the more you invest in yourself, the more others will invest in you.
